Out with the bath water!

So with our ever impending move, I have decided to be rid of a few things...I'm always careful not to take to much "stuff" with me (shut-it "V")....ok so maybe I'm a pack rat...and who cares if I have traveled the world and country with a pack of index cards that have never been used for the last 15 years...you never know when I may need those little suckers... ok, so yeah I always forget I have the 15 year old ones and buy new ones for the kids when they need them for school...but one day those 15 year old index cards will come in handy!

Anyway, on with the rid-myself of junk fest...

On this move I am going to get rid of some furniture, the boys currently share a room, and they will not be sharing a room when we move to our new home ( hopefully that is if we find a home) and so they have a bunch of not so great dressers that we will putting out to the curb...

I am also debating about going through all of my Rubbermaid containers, I know a few that aren't full of Holiday Decorating Items are full of "junk" and "V"'s right why should continue to carry around excess baggage???

I could also possibly give away all of my plates, and silverware, and bowls, and other non matching things I have for my kitchen, because when get to our new place I will be going here to buy new...

Ok so I am now making it my mission to declutter my home before the move...of course I will have to try and fit that in around...soccer...golf..track...my job...remotes every Saturday...oh and did I mention that "V" is leaving again in about a week...

None of this sounds like much fun though...and I'm a fun kind of girl...how can I turn this into a game?? Oh I know...if "V" were to buy me a bunch of new and shiny things when we get to Virginia then I would feel much better about disposing of my old and not so shiny things...

  1. HECK YA! Have a yard sale on your way out and spend all your money at Ikea. That's where David and I bought all our newlywed stuff when we were stationed in VA. I bet you could even sell your index cards! or maybe this..

  2. Thanks Anna, I am such a HUGE fan of Ikea!! I went there no lie everyday in Germany, that's where I would go during my lunch break and walk around!

Thanks also for the Index card tips, I'll have to think about some of those!
