World Autism Awareness Day

Today is World Autism Awareness Day! It's an important Day in our house... "A" has one of the MANY forms of Autism.

Most people are surprised by that and it's always been very hard to have "A"'s Autism taken seriously, so please take some time...even if it's just a few minutes and learn more about Autism and the millions of children and families it affects, visit Autism Speaks and be informed!

  1. Yes, I have an Asperger's son. It seems to be the norm these days, right? I think as soon as other kids are aware of it..(which would be the help of their parents) life would be so much easier for our broken hearts that we hide on a daily basis.

I have another blogging friend, Ali, who has an autistic toddler. Gosh, she is lucky to be so ahead of the game.

I actually look at it pretty positive. He is brilliant--and knows things I can't even figure out. I stay optimistic and think if I can teach him social skills and he can teach me his brain,we would be a great combination.

Have you ever played video games with him? I tried it once and could not believe how he thinks. It was kinda inspiring!

Anyway, sorry for the novel. It is just nice to know we are all in this together sometimes when there is no one else that understands and or cares, really.
